Games
UFO50 - fell off for a while; following along with the excellent Eggplant podcast; continues to surprise and delight
Star of Providence - got this because Animal Well was so good. Kind of feels like if Binding of Isaac weren’t so nasty
Patrick’s Parabox - very clever. Makes me want to learn some math
Noita - really want to put 10000 hours into this. Steam deck mousepad controls work great
Caves of Qud - hands-down one of the greatest games of all time
Narita Boy - looks incredible; did not expect a 1980s vaporwavey aesthetic to resonate with me in 2025; plays kinda janky and overloaded with lore
Dungeons of Blood and Dream - very early days
N++ - this game feels so good
Pâquerette Down the Bunbarrows - hard for me because I’m stupid but delightful
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy - respect Foddy a lot but will be waiting for Baby Steps rather than continuing with this
Super Meat Boy - I don’t like the way this feels and I don’t like the level design really
Metaphor: ReFantazio - still chugging away. A total treat I am playing really slowly for no discernible reason except attention I guess
Books
Autumn, Ali Smith - wonderful and unhappily timely
Scars (Horus Heresy #28), Chris Wraight - I like the role the white scars play in the overall thing of the heresy but my 40k novel obsession has been on the decline for a while so idk
Milkman, Anna Burns - terrific
Finished all three books and not many of the games. Beat Caves of Qud on roleplay mode but after 100 hours I feel like I’m just getting started T B H. April looks good: recently picked up Wanderstop (wonderful) and Halls of Torment (works better for me than Diablo II honestly).
Getting my shit together with school. Just signed up to play Twilight Imperium this weekend…? Various projects this summer I hope to blog about or whatever. GOodbye
