every mind that’s ever been was as natural as mountains

the game contains contradictions (roguelike vs. crpg; procedural vs. bespoke; mechanical crunch vs lush narrative) and while these contradictions might undermine its perfection in the sense that Tetris is perfect they are generative enough to launch it into the stratosphere 

there’s no reason a game can’t be both a beautiful act of storytelling and a big ol box of toys
